What was Your Favorite Part of the GR Conference?
submitted by Sue Wellman, VP of Communications

Soon after the conference in Grand Rapids, a question was sent out on the MILE asking everyone to send in a brief description of their favorite part of the conference. Here's what you said.

I enjoyed the addition of a member spotlight during the lunch session on Sunday. The tours were great, as were the workshops. For me, two things really stood out at this conference. First, the Geek Group National Science Institute after-hours tour and meet-and-greet. That was a truly special place, and really opened my eyes to the potential of makerspaces as community resources and centers of learning. The dedication and passion for teaching, learning, and creating that I saw on display there was truly inspirational. Second, getting the chance to chat with my fellow model makers, hear about their corners of the industry, the tools they use and how they use them. Exchanging such knowledge in real time, swapping stories and experiences with fellow professionals in the field is one of the greatest benefits of any conference, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.

The best part of the conference was ‘Sharing, Learning & Encouragement’. The workshops, tours and meeting colleagues, renewed our energies and confidence for future business. Conference was good mix of engaging events, nicely planned and executed. We developed strong friendships and have plans for further business engagement with members. Overall, it was resourceful for us.

Sam was so kind and helpful that we felt at home during our visit. We thank you for all your support extended for attending this conference.

Eagerly waiting for next APMM conference, in any part of the world, we will be there!

We wish APMM becomes a strong amalgamation of professionals nurturing our industry.

The 2018 Conference in Grand Rapids was one of my favorite conferences - I thought it was a good mix of practical tours, fun sights, great learning experiences, and fantastic social gatherings. While Conferences are a quite a bit of work, I thoroughly enjoy seeing old friends, meeting new members, and exploring our host city. This year, Grand Rapids did not disappoint, from the great sunny weather to the fun downtown district and lots of yummy foods to try. Thanks to all who made it a successful and energizing event!
