The primary purpose of this position is to develop, integrate, and transition science and technology for Conventional Munitions Research to assure the preeminence of US Air and Space Forces.
Responsibilities
- Establishes priorities and provides technical direction to the team, consisting of the following four areas of expertise (1) Model Making (2) Sheetmetal Fabrication (3) Welding (4) Carpentry.
- Assists the supervisor in performing work direction responsibilities. Makes independent judgements and decisions in determining how to fabricate an item to meet the precise specifications established by the scientist or engineers responsible for testing the item.
- Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Serves independently or as a crew member to plan and fabricate items involved in conventional weapons testing articles and facilities.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for all trade and labor occupations, you must meet any minimum experience or training requirements per OPM qualifications standards and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision(Screen-out Element)
