What you will do

The Concept Model Developer is responsible for prototype fabrication that supports product development. This includes working with engineering and the Principal Concept Model Developer to bring a product from idea/concept through design, prototyping, development, testing, design verification and validation, manufacturing, and product introduction. Other duties include attending design reviews and brainstorming meetings. This individual will also be responsible for the maintenance of the machines and tools including calibration, scheduled maintenance, and routine servicing.

What you need
  • 2 plus years working as a model maker in a machine shop environment
  • CAM programming with industry-standard software (SurfCam and MasterCam, etc.) Preferred
  • CAD design with industry standard software (CREO, SolidWorks, etc.) Preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Assembly
  • Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Able to prioritize activities with some supervision
  • Able to change from project to project as needed due to changing priorities
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Customer-focused to deliver results while enhancing own skill set
  • Ability to participate in a problem-solving culture and work from general procedures and policy with supervision.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Office.
  • Mechanical skills, abilities, and knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
  • Experience with precision measurement equipment
  • Proficient in math
