Absolutely! Although cheap, they do pay for themselves rather quickly. If cutting long stock, you can quickly weld up a support stand at the same height as the saw table.

When the new person in the shop complains about you not having a tool they like, it's tempting to tell them you're "not made of money" and "we've done without it forever" and stuff like that. I'm glad I let myself get talked into this one, though. I'm pretty sure it paid for itself ($250) in less that a week. I submit to you, the cheap metal-cutting band saw.
