I have a customer that laser engraves models that go into black rubber vulcanized molds, which heat to about 325 degrees under pressure. Their domestic supplier for Acetal Delrin has developed major quality control issues. The material used to be glass smooth, but is now more like swiss cheese. The delrin is domestically manufactured in New Jersey and available through various plastics distributors.

I'm looking for either an alternative mill/supplier, or for another material that can be deep engraved with a CO2 laser, but that can withstand the temps and pressure of vulcanization for spin casting without breakdown or shrinkage. They require .125", .156" and .187" sheet thicknesses.

They came to me for FroggieBoard, but my material is not suitable for laser engraving.

Any ideas or sources are appreciated!
