I am a graduate of the Prototype and Design program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. I completed my Associate Degree in Prototyping and Design this May, along with a Certificate in Parametric Modeling and some additional classes from the Mechanical Design Program. NWTC is one of two schools in the country that offer degree programs in Prototype and Design. I have a strong “Can Do Attitude”. To me it is not a matter of whether or not something can be done, rather the question becomes “How do we make it happen?”
I have always enjoyed designing and/or building things. I wish I had known of this field before. Over the last few years I have expanded my knowledge and skills beyond traditional tools and methods to include Lathe work, CNC milling, painting and finishing, and a variety of other tools and methods. My education includes a variety of software including, but not limited to CAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, SurfCam, CorelDraw, and MS Office. I have worked with a wide variety of materials including plastics, metals, wood, model board, and others.
I have been active in student government as the treasurer for the Prototype and Design Club and the Student Government Representative for the Swing and Ballroom Club at NWTC. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa (Academic Honor Society), and ACES (Adults on Course for Excellence). I am also an active member of the Mankind Project.
I also completed my work-study with the Prototype and Design program at NWTC. In this I worked on a variety of projects, and assisted with helping other students. During this time, some of my service projects include: the Dale Preston Memorial Bench, a six foot Pencil for the CP Art Center, and a sled hockey bucket for someone with Cerebral Palsy.
